We discovered 3 days ago that my 17 month old daughter, Layla, has a massive cancerous tumor (Neuroblastoma) in her abdomen. It extends from above her left kidney, around her side, over her belly and wraps around her aorta. In addition she has very low bone density and the doctors believe the cancer is inside the bones.
Please follow Layla's updates on http://twitter.com/laylagrace and read more about her on http://www.carepages.com/carepages/LaylaGrace. We appreciate any and ALL prayers for our sweet angel.

Gals With Girls is a cute little boutique on Etsy that offers custom made bows, hats, tutus, headbands and so much more! I love these sweet monogrammed bows, and the classic toile set is my absolute favorite! All bows are made with great attention to detail and shipped in a box so they arrive in mint condition. The soft and stretchy beanies are adored with sweet oversized flowers and bows. Perfect for everyday wear or a special photoshoot.

I love hair accessories on little girls. One of my favorites is oversized flowers with a little bit of bling. Add a crochet beanie and it's pure sweetness. Simply faBOWlous has a huge selection of mesh, crochet and cotton flower hats, flower headbands, tutus, tattoo art baby hats and much more.
I received a white with pink peony hat, and a white with white peony headband. Both were very well made and are way too cute! I love that the hat and headband are very soft and stretchy. Hats fit 18 months - 6+ years! Awesome! Something all 3 of my kids can use and get lots of wear out of. Love that!! If you have little bitty ones, check out the newborn - 12 month sizes.
These cute hats and headbands are great for everyday wear, and perfect for photos! This little bitty baby is 3 days old. Precious!!

I don't typically put my kids in tee shirts when we're out and about, but Melissa Stanchock of ModernMe has developed a line of tees that are both stylish and comfortable. The graphics on the shirts are printed both right side up and upside down, enabling baby to see the graphic from their perspective when gazing down.
Illustrations are fun and swoopy, and range from dinosaurs and tractors to an organic line featuring a Sapphire Bellied Hummingbird. Give your child their first taste of object recognition and word association while sporting hip, modern designs with sophisticated color palettes.
ModernMe donates a portion of the proceeds from their organic collection to the San Diego Zoo CRES (Conservation and Research for Endangered Species) Foundation. Find out how you can do your part by going to www.cres.sandiegozoo.org

Some days I wake up exhausted. So tired that I don't think there's any way I can get out of bed and start my day. I was never really a coffee drinker until I had kids. I've consumed more Frappucinos then any person should ever consume in their whole life, but coffee just wasn't my...cup of tea. I have SO many things to do in the morning before I get the kids to school that taking the extra time to make a pot of coffee was last on my list. Not to mention that I would always forget the creamer at the store, and really, what good is coffee if there isn't enough cream and sugar in it to turn it a milky white color (really, that's how I drink my coffee)! Coffee was never a priority for me.

Rapper M.I.A was beside herself when reports surfaced she named her baby Ickett. She denied it and added sarcastically she also hadn't named her child Pickit or Lickit. According to Health Department records, the boy's name is Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman. Ikhyd arrived on February 11th and is the first child for the Sri Lanka-born M.I.A., 31, whose real name is Mathangi Arulpragasam, and fiancé Benjamin Bronfman.
I just love how celebrities name their children these odd names and then get upset when people mispronounce or misspell them. Amazing. Here are a few of my favorites...
Pilot Inspektor - Child of Jason Lee. Named after a song by the band Granddaddy.
Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa, Little Pixie, and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily - Children of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates. Paula Yates died from a heroin overdose in 2000. Maybe she thought of these names when she was high.
Tu Morrow - Child of Rob Morrow. If this wasn't so sad for this poor child, it would be pretty damn funny!
Kyd - Child of David Duchovny and Tea Leoni. When you can't agree on what to name the kid, name him...Kyd.
Destry - Child of Steven Spielberg. When you're worth over 3 billion dollars you can pretty much name your child whatever you want.
Moxie Crimefighter - Child of Penn Jillette. Is this a boy or girl??

Custom clothes are everywhere. Hop on Etsy and search custom clothing and you will get 18,341 results (accurate number - I just checked). BUT, how do you know that you're going to get your money's worth? After all, custom clothing doesn't come cheap! I'm ashamed to say how much I've spent on outfits that were very badly made. There are a few sellers that I return to over and over again. For spring, I wanted to try someone new. I stumbled upon MomiBoutique and instantly fell in love with everything in her store! I bookmarked them and kept looking. For several days I looked at tons of different stores on Etsy, but always went back to MomiBoutique. Finally I placed my order, sent Rachel (the owner and designer) my daughter's measurements and waited.
I didn't have to wait long. Within a week I had received my order. One week!! For custom clothing!! Most stores have at least a 2 week turnaround, many have longer than that. I was SO excited! My clothes came wrapped in a cute little package and for the month of March, each purchase comes with a free matching hair clippy.
I purchased the Mother Nature ruffle dress with knotted straps ($57), and the Happy Days of Spring 2 piece outfit ($85). Both of these outfits were made exactly to my daughters measurements, so of course fit her perfectly. Because the straps are adjustable, she can wear them all summer even if she has a growth spurt. The fabric is very good quality. I can't stand when sellers get their fabric from Wal-Mart and it fades, shrinks and frays after one wash. UGH!
The construction and quality of these garments are exceptional. Seams are serged, stitches are straight and material lines up properly. I am so thrilled to have found this great designer! Now all those things are important, right? We like items that are constructed well, but what *really* sells an outfit? The way it looks of course! I LOVE the color combinations Rachel uses! They are not matchy matchy and look SO great together.
So, great quality, exceptional cuteness factor and darn good prices make MomiBoutique one of my favorites for custom clothing. Check her store often, new items are listed regularly and quantities are very limited (as in, she might only make one)! If you like it - you better snatch it up! Also, check out the MomiBoutique blog and find out how to get FREE shipping!

I love me some Baby Lulu! I love the softness and sweet detailing that I have come to expect from any Baby Lulu outfit. I love the vibrant unexpected colors and patterns. I love that my girls can comfortable play around the house and take naps in these breathable stretchy clothes, but when it's time to leave the house I don't have to change them because they look SO cute!
Baby Lulu has seriously outdone themselves with their new organic line. It's my favorite out of all their collections! The Isabella Organic collection features delicate blossoms and gentle colors of light pink, cream and light green. Every single piece in the Organic Collection is just darling! I had the chance to review the Sadie Sleeveless Tee ($32.50) and Ruffle Pant ($23.50). I love, love, love this precious outfit! The top is so girly and flowy, and the ruffles and flowers on the bottom of the pants match the neckline of the top.

The Utopia line celebrates the arrival of spring. Bright, fresh colors, flowing fabrics and sweet flowers make this line as sweet as summer. Perfect for a tea party, playdate or school day, the Emma dress ($50) features glittery pink buttons, puff cap sleeves, contrasting hem and waistband and 3 button accents on the front. Super comfortable and oh so sweet!

I grew up watching Fraggle Rock, Care Bears and She-Ra princess of Power. I listened to Debbie Gibson, Paula Abdul and the Go-Gos. I played with Pound Puppies, Popples and Teddy Ruxpin. My very favorite thing to play with was Rainbow Brite. I had all the dolls, the horse, Starlite, all the Sprites and all the other merchandise that I could get my hands on. Books, puzzles, movies, clothes, stickers...I was in awe of the little girl who could color the whole world.

As I was searching for spring clothes for my girls, I came across THE outfit. My chin about hit the desk! I had a sudden flashback of sitting in the living room at my grandparents house, Rainbow Brite toys surrounding me, my grandpa in his rocking chair watching a John Wayne movie and my grandma in the kitchen cooking. This one dress made me feel instantly happy. The kind of happy where you just want to cry because a memory is so meaningful and unexpected.

This absolutely perfect jumper is loaded with appliques, and can be paired with a long or short sleeved shirt. Add a pair of rainbow BabyLegs and this might quite possibly be the most perfect outfit ever! THANK YOU, PicklesandCo, for making my day!

I consider myself pretty open minded. I'm a young mom and stay current with the baby/toddler trends. I buy completely impractical outfits that my poor kids can hardly stand to wear for longer than 15 minutes. I even put high heel crib shoes on my youngest and got a good laugh (and some very odd looks!) BUT you gotta draw the line somewhere. Might as well start with this.
Taken from the website (certainly not my own words!) - Baby Bangs are a HAIR+band accessory combination allows baby girl's (with little or no hair at all) the opportunity to have a beautifully realistic HAIR style in a SNAP!! It's quick, easy and baby barely knows it's there. Each Baby Bangs! HAIR+band has been made using only the finest ribbons and fabrics, PLUS our Baby Bangs! come to you pre-customized & size appropriate, cut, styled and ready for immediate wear. The wispy hair strands have been arranged in the cutest most adorable elfish coiffure!
First, let me say, WTF?!?! Is this really for real?? The website doesn't really offer much information other than odd pictures of babies that look like they're wearing makeup and a promise of simply gorgeous hair for your infant. And if you're not filling your shopping cart with various colors of hair yet, the weirdos geniuses behind Baby Bangs are going to throw in a styling comb and a Certificate of Authenticity...whatever the hell that means.
So if you're tired of your precious little bald angel getting mistaken for a boy (because even if a baby is dressed in pink from head to toe with a pink blanket and paci, someone will always say "What a precious little boy"....Idiots!!) why not outfit them with a headband with creepy looking hair attached to it? And then, if you're STILL not satisfied with the way your child looks, you can use hairspray!!! Yep, you read that right. Once baby's fake hair has been styled to your liking, use a light hairspray to keep those wispies under control!
